Welcome to taedryn.com! This place is the logical outcome from a while being perpetually online: a space where there are no algorithms except the ones I code into my CRM software, and where I can put things I feel like writing about but don't fit in another particular place.
I've been writing a journal online (being perpetually uncomfortable with the word "blog") for years, but fell out of the habit recently, as I started to sort out my gender. I discovered recently that I was trans, and leading up to that, had a lot of thinking to do, but didn't feel it was appropriate to put it in a public place associated with my name.
This seemed like the obvious next thing to do.
So, here, expect to find entries on gender, tabletop role-playing games, transness, and general musings. Should you come back frequently? That remains to be seen, but I'll probably have a new post up at least every few weeks.
The name Taedryn comes from my first TTRPG character after a long break post-college. Taedryn was my elven ranger in a D&D 5e campaign a coworker put together, and it makes a great online name, being pretty unusual, and not directly associated with anything else.
You may notice that there are no comment fields, no way to interact with the site, really, beyond clicking on a link and reading what's there. That's very intentional. The internet is a hot garbage fire, and I have no interest in two-way communications with the general public. If this angers and frustrates you, you are specifically who I don't want to be interacting with.
I hope you enjoy what you find here. If you scroll down on the main page, you'll see there are some other entries that I've written between having the idea for the site, and actually getting it live. There's some good stuff there, I recommend giving it a little perusal.
If the chatter around webrings comes to be, I expect I'll be joining up with something like that, but that's for the future. For now, have a look around, and have a good day when you move on to the next thing.
XOXO -Taedryn
